Golden Joystick nagrade za 2024. godinu održat će se 21. studenog 2024., a glasanje za većinu kategorija je sada službeno otvoreno. Kao što se očekivalo, konkurencija je prilično jaka, a prednjače svakako (i očekivano) Final Fantasy VII Rebrith i Astrobot te Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. I brojni Nintendo naslovi i igre za Switch općenito našli su se među nominiranima.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth ima najviše nominacija, njih pet, među kojima je i nominacija za najbolju konzolašku igru godine. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II ima četiri, dok Astro bot i Tactical Breach Wizards imaju tri nominacije. Čini nam se da nema sumnje da će se ove igre naći i na listi za igru godine.

Objavljeno je 19 kategorija zajedno s popisima nominiranih. Glasanje za kategorije Ultimate Game of the Year, Best Performer, i Best Supporting Performer bit će dostupno od 23. listopada. Na samoj noći dodjele Golden Joystick nagrada 2024., doznat ćemo i pobjednike kategorija Streamers’ Choice Award, Breakthrough Award, Best Game Adaptation, i Critics’ Choice Award, koje biraju novinari.

U kategoriji najbolje priče, tj. najboljeg storytellinga, nalaze se mnogi sjajni naslovi, od Square Enixovog Final Fantasy VII Rebirtha, sjajni 1000xRESIST, Switch ekskluziva Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Clubm, puzzle avantura Lorelei and the Laser Eye, Tactical Breach Wizards i Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Za najbolju konzolašku igru glavnu konkurenciju čine Final Fantasy VII Rebrith i Astrobot zajedno sa neizbježnom Zelda igrom, ovoga puta The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
